Teachers

Savinder Soor

I started practicing yoga in the year 1998 after quite accidentally dropping into a lunchtime yoga session in the heart of London, where I come from, but now residing in Holland.

It was love at first practice. The lesson was a combination of stretching and dancing, both melting into one. It left me feeling completely light in body and vitally refreshed. This feeling of wellness got me practicing yoga on a regular basis and in the year 2000 I got my Yoga Siromani (jewel on the crown) as a yoga teacher at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta center in Canada, the head quarters of the Sivananda Yoga Organization.

I felt that since yoga worked for me, it was also going to work for others, and this is when I started teaching in 2000. This age old tradition had many benefits on all levels of being, the mind, body and spirit. Since having completed my yoga teacher training I have never stopped giving lessons and in the year 2007 I decided I wanted to advance a little more in my own practice and took the Advanced Teacher Training in Vrindravan India. This gave me a deeper understanding of the Vedanta philosophy and a chance to learn Sanskrit. As well as teaching Hatha yoga, I also give meditation classes, which form an important part of a yogic practice
